Residential New Construction

Building the Future of Your Home, One Wire at a Time.
Our residential electrical construction services deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant power systems for new homes, basements, suites and garages . From initial design to final inspection, we handle every detail — ensuring your home is built with reliable electricity that supports modern living and stands the test of time.

How It Works

1. Planning & Design

2. Rough-In Stage (before insulation and drywall)

2. Rough-In Stage (before insulation and drywall)

An electrician works with the builder and homeowner to plan where outlets, switches, lights, appliances, and panels will go. Load calculations are done to size the electrical service (typically 100–200 amps in most homes).

2. Rough-In Stage (before insulation and drywall)

2. Rough-In Stage (before insulation and drywall)

The main electrical panel is installed. Boxes for outlets, switches, and fixtures are mounted. Cables (wiring) are run through studs, joists, and walls to supply power to outlets, lights, and appliances. Low-voltage wiring (internet, cable, speakers, security) is also run at this stage if needed.

3. Inspection

2. Rough-In Stage (before insulation and drywall)

4. Insulation & Drywall

Local electrical inspectors review the rough-in to make sure wiring meets safety codes before walls are closed

4. Insulation & Drywall

5. Trim-Out (Finish Stage)

4. Insulation & Drywall

Once approved, insulation and drywall are installed, covering the wiring

5. Trim-Out (Finish Stage)

5. Trim-Out (Finish Stage)

5. Trim-Out (Finish Stage)

Electricians return to install outlets, switches, light fixtures, smoke detectors, and connect appliances. The electrical panel is finalized, breakers labeled, and circuits tested.

6. Final Inspection

A final inspection ensures everything is safe and up to code. Utility power is connected, and the home is ready for use.

Homeowner Tips for New Construction Wiring

Plan outlet and switch locations early

Plan outlet and switch locations early

Plan outlet and switch locations early

Walk through the framed house with your electrician to confirm where you’ll want outlets, switches, and lights. It’s much easier to adjust now than after drywall

Think about future needs

Consider adding extra circuits for things like EV chargers, hot tubs, home offices, or basement finishing.

Add exterior power

Consider low-voltage wiring

Plan outlets for Christmas lights, backyard power tools, or future sheds  and buildings

Run cables for internet, TV, security cameras, or speakers during rough-in, before walls are closed.

Upgrade for efficiency

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@elevateitinc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Wiring is typically installed during the rough-in stage, after framing, plumbing and heating but before insulation and drywall.

The electrician installs the main panel, runs cables through the walls, and sets up outlet, switch, and fixture boxes. Low-voltage wiring (internet, security, etc.) can also be done at this stage

Electrical work is usually inspected two to three times: once for meter energization, once after rough-in (before walls are closed) and again at final completion to ensure safety and code compliance.

Minor changes may be possible before drywall, but it’s much harder and more expensive afterward. Planning ahead is important.

The electrician installs the service equipment, but the utility company connects the main power line after the service inspection
